These measures can be used to identify emerging health problems and to inform the development and implementation of effective, targeted public health prevention activities.

Definition	Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS): The nation’s premier system of health-related surveys that collect state data about U.S. residents regarding their health-related risk behaviors, chronic health conditions, and use of preventive services.
